Chris "BeachAV8R"
Frishmuth
SimHQ Aviation & Air Combat Co-Editor

Hello!
Im Chris BeachAV8R Frishmuth, a flight simmer
pretty much from the inception of flight sims. I started flying
flight simulators way back in the days of Bruce Artwick and
SubLogic, and was actually nerdy enough to have a logbook
of my hundreds of hours flying Flight Simulator II for the
Commodore 64.
My love
of simulated aviation was really just a stop-gap measure until
I could afford to get into aviation for real. During one of
those post high school years I earned my private pilot certificate
at Quantico MCAS since I was still a military dependent. After
wandering around aimlessly through the first couple of years
of college I found my purpose in life and landed at Embry-Riddle
Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ where I eventually
graduated with a B.S. in Aerospace Studies. I didnt
fly at all at ERAU since I just couldnt afford that
program, so after graduation I still had a pretty long certification
road ahead. I completed all of my flight training up to Certified
Flight Instructor - Instrument at Ramp 66 in North Myrtle
Beach, SC (CRE) where I flew charter, flight instructed, and
pumped fuel to make ends meet.
Eventually
my exposure to corporate aviation at Ramp 66 landed me a job
flying Citations for a conglomeration of textiles companies
in Charlotte, NC. A couple of years later, in 1998, I found
my current job flying air ambulance missions out of Charlotte
on a mix of Citations and King Airs. I love the job and I
anticipate doing it for a good part of the remainder of my
career. The job affords me lots of time to play (hiking, kayaking,
and windsurfing) and also allows me to indulge my computer
related hobbies, not the least of which is participating and
interacting with the great crowd at SimHQ.
