I've
been fascinated with computers and aviation for as long as
I can remember, and of course, this means that I've been simming
for almost as long as I could! My first article on SimHQ was
in May, 1998, and I'm proud to say that I helped run this
fine site as Senior Editor for several years before stepping
back. These days, my occasional articles mostly focus on non-fiction,
non-review writing, helping to bring the world of history
and aviation to the simulation community.
When I'm not on the computer, I enjoy
writing, reading, politics, learning, playing with my kids,
or listening to music. Of course, I also love real-life aviation
as well.I even have one or two hours of stick time and a solo
jump under my belt, and no, the two events weren't related!
However, the thrill of my life was a day in the rain with
dozens of WWII bomber vets, followed by a flight in the last
flying B-24 Liberator (photo is of me, in-flight, on the port
waist gun). I have a soft spot in my heart for "real"
planes and their crew...the kind without fancy radars in their
noses, and where 'fly by wire' means there's a cable running
from the stick to the control surfaces.
Although my formal education is in
Journalism, my "real job" is in marketing / PR.
