Feature: The Battle of Britain II Day by Day Campaign

Back To Page 1

Now lets talk about what makes the Battle of Britain II Day By Day Campaign possible.

The 2.11 Update

The first milestone was the release of the BDG 2.11 update to Battle of Britain II: Wings of Victory.

Major work was done in this update to perfect the Bf110 and Spitfire models, and fine tune the flight models with the fidelity the BDG is renowned for.

But perhaps the most noticeable change to the sim was the addition of 200 new period ground models (taking the total in the game to more than 700,000) and in particular significant work to populate the city of London, more accurately model the coastline of SE England, and redo the ports of Dover and Folkestone. BoB II's London, Folkestone and Dover is now the most historically accurate in any flight sim, and to fly over it in a Hurricane or Spitfire is like stepping into a time machine.

The Tiger Moth Expansion Pack

Next in the BDG release program is an expansion pack featuring the de Havilland DH 82 Tiger Moth trainer.

Beetling around the newly beautified London in this stalwart of the RAF flight schools will be enjoyable in itself. But the expansion pack will also feature more than 20 new missions designed specifically for the Tiger Moth. These range from easy and challenging training missions, to visual navigation in weathers fair and foul, and finally a series of Special Operations Service support missions deep into enemy territory.

The Tiger Moth Expansion Pack will be released before September 15 — Battle of Britain Day.
