Heading down the runway in the B1900D I’ve just broken ground and am passing through 105 knots when the “trigger” fails the left engine on me. “Dead foot, dead engine” I say to myself as the airplane rolls into the dead engine and I push my right rudder pedal to the floor attempting to keep my course.
I pull the left engine prop lever into feather and pull the left engine condition lever into cutoff.
The left engine windmills to a stop as the blades go into feather and I prepare to come around for a single engine landing.
