A night view of Washington National
airport (DCA) from several thousand feet; this is fairly realistic
looking with rather subdued airport lighting being difficult
to discern from above but readily visible laterally.
For those times when you are flying
in the pitch black areas of the country out west in the middle
of the desert without any ambient light, you can use the "night
vision" view. The effect doesn't translate as well in
a screenshot, but the fuzzy green view in motion is very well
done. Here is a screenshot of the same scene with and without
night vision.
Watching military aircraft fly-by
the tower using the night vision view is a bit spooky.
