While we fly north, the enemy from Koksan flies south and we merge in the middle. Seizing the opportunity to thin their ranks a bit before they reach our airbase our flight engages the targets as we bore through them. I pick out a MiG-23, padlock him, and unleash two AMRAAMS at him. Knocking him out of the sky and giving the F-15Cs back at base one less raider to worry about.
Reaching Koksan I line up on one of the runways and prepare to drop my Durandal runway cratering munitions down the center.
Screaming down the runway I hold the pickle button down as the bombs drop off one by one. Tracer fire fills the air as bullets zip by and at the end of the runway I hear the “tink tink” of shells hitting my aircraft.
All of my electric instruments go dead, but the flight controls respond and the engine is still running so I break off to the south and watch my wingmen on their runs. F4:AF features a new OCA strike menu for wingmen that is fantastic. No longer do you have to designate targets using the DBS radar (or even worse, padlock!) instead the wingmen will select targets on their own at the IP.
