It is hard to ignore that FSX seems to favor and indeed feature bush-pilot type flying. You see it in the aircraft inventory and in a wide collection of the missions. This is a good thing because bush pilots have some of the most demanding aviation jobs in the world. I know I keep coming back around to the “mission” thing, but for a reviewer the missions really are the best way to showcase the features since they have already been thrown in there for easy access. I was really impressed with the mission in the DC-3 to fly relief supplies in the Congo because I wandered a bit too close to the volcano and the ash cloud shut down one of my engines. I suspect it is scripted that way, but it doesn’t make it any less cool. The atmospheric effects and preset weather really add to the scene and the reflections from the cockpit windows gave me a real Ernest Gann moment.
