Keeping with the “bush pilot” theme the Maule is a fantastic little airplane to bounce around in. With wheel and ski equipped variants the only thing missing is one on floats. The tailwheel aircraft in FSX are fun to fly and you get the expected squirreliness with the requisite dancing on the rudder pedals to counter all the left turning tendencies. Throw in some ice and a slope and you start to appreciate how these guys earn their pay. The mission to supply the Denali base-camp is a fun little trip with some stunning mountain scenery to fly though. The approach and landing into the base-camp area is probably easier than my first attempt turned out but it was pretty sobering to attempt a 180 degree turn in the close confines of the glacial valley. The Maule has a spectacular VC and I was really missing my TrackIR2 at this point.
