Another of my personal favorite aircraft that made it into FSX is the Bombardier CRJ 700. Again, FSX glosses over much of the systems, but some casual to intermediate users might find the “light” systems treatment to be plenty to fulfill their needs. What I like about the CRJ are the large pop-up 2D EFIS tubes that make shooting instrument approaches a lot of fun. I spend a lot of time with FSX shooting approaches that I otherwise might not see in the real world and FSX is a big improvement over FS9 as far as depiction of electronic flight displays. While 3rd party add-ons far surpassed what the stock FS9 shipped with I’m pretty impressed with the quality of the default EFIS displays in FSX. No doubt they will (and can) be improved upon by 3rd party developers and I’m looking forward to what those teams are going to do with FSX’s added capabilities.
