Multiplayer / Community Modes

The main Community Menu is very well designed. It is quite accessible, and from one menu you can quickly access your messages, car club, leaderboards, storefront, news feed, and rivals mode.

Multiplayer Racing

Racing online has remained pretty much the same throughout the life of the series, with Forza Motorsport 3 taking a hit for removing private lobbies and forcing drivers to utilize the match-making feature that is so dominate in other genres of games. In Forza Motorsport 4, the Private Lobby has returned, along with options to restrict rooms to invites or friends only. The advanced options for lobbies allows you to customize your racing experience from type of car, performance and upgrade restrictions, forcing driving assists (on or off) as well as adding AI to fill empty grid spaces and adjust the AI difficulty. Drivers are also able to find races quickly by searching custom and pre-selected categories. Even with all the good things coming back to multiplayer, we are still limited to 50 laps per race over Xbox Live and 75 in the split screen. Also, there is no local network mode available and only 4 cars on track in split screen mode.
