SimHQ.com - Land Combat Zone - Review: Brothers in Arms

At the beginning of each chapter Sgt Greg "Mac" Hassey will issue the orders, usually after the light banter mentioned before between your squad mates. Carry out your orders then meet back up with him after completion — that will end the chapter. Below are the first two chapters written as if I was Sgt Baker (your character). Hope I'm not giving too much away here!

Chapter 1

Carentan France Hill 30 D+7

Knocked unconscious... I wake up to Leggett calling me. That explosion was close. Ringing in my ears still... I get up and take out a couple of more Germans. Damn... here comes a tank. We're in trouble now. Another explosion... I get knocked out again. I'm aware enough to see Leggett yelling at the Germans. I black out again.

Chapter 2

Drop into France (near Normandy)

Here we go — we're finally on the way. The squad and myself are in our aircraft and we are hit. I stand in the door and am blown out. With my equipment still on the plane, I have no weapons. After landing in a tree I gather myself. Wow, that was rough! I better get moving and see if I can find the rest of my squad. Ahh, there's Mac, great. He hands me a Colt and we make our way to a chateau. Meet up with Leggett and Colonel Cole. Cole can't speak French. Leggett who speaks French offers to ask the occupants where we are. We are Northeast of St. Mare Englise. We're off target. Damn!
