The Races

March 7   Australian GP - Albert Park

Overview: Good start to the season with a late night one that usually is a good excuse to hit the shandies beforehand.

Look out for: Difficult overtaking means you often get rash moves made at turns 3 & 4

Overall: A good race but can be a bit processional. Would not be a top race were it not for it's being first on the calendar though was probably the best race last year

March 21    Malaysian GP - Sepang

Overview: Exciting track with unpredictable weather that can lead to surprising results

Look out for: Manic out breaking maneuvers at the hairpin separating the two straights also overtaking moves at the first very slow chicane

Overall: Excellent track & its starting at 7am means that you can watch it over breakfast!

April 4    Bahrain GP - Bahrain International Circuit

Overview: First new track of the season & a spectacular design.

Look out for: Effect of driving from oasis into desert. Tires, cars & drivers overheating due to dry nature of circuit.

Overall: An exciting new adventure for F1 on at a civilized time.

April 25    San Marino GP - Imola

Overview: Emasculated stop start track. Difficult to overtake

Look out for: Occasional good overtaking moves at the Variente Alta, 10th anniversary of Senna's death

Overall: Bit of a dull race now but nice to go to for the Italian spring

May 9    Spanish GP - Catalunya

Overview: Dull racetrack with lots of long corners, getting better though

Look out for: Huge partisan support for Alonso

Overall: Often not the best race but expect fireworks from Alonso.
