Strategy
One or two stops is again the way
to go in Japan. In 1994 the two part nature of the race helped
Damon Hill's one stopping Williams eek a crucial advantage
over Schuey's two stopping Benetton in what was arguably the
most thrilling Japanese Grand Prix to date. Since then the
teams have tended to opt for a similar strategy to each other
with two stops usually being the way to go due to the high
degradation of the tires and the handling characteristics
of the circuit.
