GTR

As stated numerous times, this was the preview version so
things can change. Still, as GTR presents itself in this version,
it looks like SimBin have made an excellent driving sim with
lots of good features that will make a lot of hardcore simmers
very happy: Live Track, TrackIR support, The Motec
analyzing tool the same that is used in real life.
I just hope there's a 500 page manual somewhere for that Motec
thing included in the retail package because this is heavy,
serious stuff.

If you loved the GTR2002
mod for F1 2002, F1 Challenge and the sportscar
mods for F1C, you certainly will not be disappointed in
GTR. I think GTR supersedes all it's ISI-based predecessors.
Is GTR in danger of being over-hyped by the community? I
think so, yes. Expectations have been set so high, that
it is almost impossible for any sim to deliver 100% to all
sim racers.
You should probably ask yourself if you think you will enjoy
driving the cars very precisely on the racing-line because
off it you'll not find much grip.
You'll also be driving on some of the worlds most chicane-ridden,
tight stop-and-go types of circuits like Barcelona, Magny-Cours
and Oschersleben. If that sounds fun to you, you probably
can't go wrong with GTR.
There will still be room on our hard disks for other driving
sims, and if you were in doubt, GTR still retains some of
the F1C / ISI-engine feel. Whether that is good or bad is
up to you to decide.
While the rest of the world awaits the release of the English
language version, you can enjoy RSDG's
Sports Car Challenge. It is still very very good, and
has many of the same cars as GTR, including some that are
not in GTR. or, why not reacquaint yourself with Virtua_LM's
magnificent Prototype-C / IMSA mod?
