The Races
March
6 Australia - Melbourne
Overview: Good
start to the season with a late night one that usually is
a good excuse to hit the shandies beforehand.
Look out for: Difficult overtaking
means you often get rash moves made at turns 3 & 4.
Overall: A good race but
can be a bit processional.
March
20 Malaysia
- Sepang
Overview: Exciting
track with unpredictable weather that can lead to surprising
results.
Look out for: Manic
out breaking maneuvers at the hairpin separating the two
straights also overtaking moves at the first very slow chicane.
Overall: Excellent
track & its starting at 7am means that you can watch
it over breakfast!
April 3
Bahrain - Sakhir
Overview: FA
spectacular design & some great racing.
Look out for: Effect of driving
from oasis into desert. The heat playing a part on components
and drivers.
Overall: A great breakfast
race!
April
24 San
Marino - Imola
Overview:
Emasculated stop start track. Difficult to overtake.
Look
out for: Occasional good overtaking moves at the Variente
Alta.
Overall: Bit of a dull race
now but nice to go to for the Italian spring.
May
8 Spain
- Barcelona
Overview: Dull racetrack
with lots of long corners, getting better though.
Look out for: Huge partisan
support for Alonso.
Overall: Often not the best
race but expect fireworks from Alonso.
May
22 Monaco - Monte Carlo
Overview: Flashy cars &
people & the most famous race in the world.
Look out for: The drivers
throwing the cars through Casino Square - esp. in qualifying.
Overall: A great race to
watch even though overtaking is almost impossible.
May
29 Europe - Nurburgring
Overview: Normally a very
good race though the track isn't the most thrilling.
Look out for: The Schuey
brothers trying to impress.
Overall: A decent race but
not a classic.
June
12 Canada
- Montreal
Overview: A brilliant
& chronically underrated circuit with lots of overtaking.
Look out for: An enormous
crash at the start.
Overall: Excellent
& well worth watching.
June
19 USA
- Indianapolis
Overview: Wiggley infield
section & the biggest straight of the season.
Look out for: Great drafting
over the start/finish line leading to banzai overtaking
moves at turn 1.
Overall: A pretty good track
but liable to be messed around with by ITV scheduling.
