Feature: Driving rFactor
A Fast Lap at Mills Metropark Long

T11L: T11L is the slowest turn on the circuit and you will need to brake very hard and very late going down the gears to 2nd , before making a slightly early turn-in, just clipping the inside kerb. Beware that the braking zone leading in to this turn is rather tricky and slippery. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve spun out here, either during braking or when coming back on the throttle exiting. In the movie and on the replay you can see me making a braking error here. Ah, the joys of late-braking!

Then it is time to negotiate complex 2 which is a series of turns you’ll want to straightline as much as possible in order to keep up a smooth and gentle acceleration

T12L (Complex2): T12 is almost a continuation of T11 and both turns are driven as one, single 90-degree left-hand turn.

T12L (Complex2)

Attempt to hit the apexes as precisely as you can in these turns and keep it nice and tidy all the way through it. If you build up excessive speed you’ll run the risk of going wide and missing the coming apex which will then make it even harder to get back up to speed and back on the racingline.

T13R (Complex2): You’ll go to 3rd gear just before mid-turn, putting your right hand side tires over the kerbing.

T14L (Complex2): Entering T14L it is only too easy to loose the car due to a pushing front-end. It is usually necessary to briefly lift off the throttle upon entering T14. Using the kerbs here does not pay off, as the risk of spinning out is simply too high.

T15R (Complex2): Before entering T15 you can go to 4th gear, try to hit the apex very precisely, and use all the road available on the exit. You exit this turn on the far left-hand side of the track and will need to enter the final turn from the right hand side of the track, while braking and going down a gear before T16. IT’s a busy life! As you approach T16 your car is positioned pointing diagonally across the track and during the very brief space of time where the steering is actually at center, brake, before taking a slightly early turn-in to T16.

T16L: Exit in 3rd getting back on the throttle as soon as possible and now all that is left is the short dash to the start-finish line.

This concludes one lap at Mills.
