Unification Theory: Part Two
An Interview with CasH from F1RST3
by Jens
"McGonigle" Lindblad
Introduction
Back in mid-February, we at SimHQ launched a new series called Unification Theory. Part 1 is here. The purpose of this series is to learn more about what is happening in the world of the virtual racing drivers, and to hear from the people who play an active role in shaping the future of our community, how they see the present and the future of our hobby.
If you feel you would like to contribute to this series by appearing in an interview, you are very welcome to contact me.
We start off today by talking with “CasH” who has been active for quite a number of years now. I remember CasH from the High Gear heydays when HG (sorely missed) was a beehive of activity.

Jens: How would you explain what F1RST3 is to SimHQ’s readers?
CasH: ‘Short’ explanation: F1RST3 stands for F1 Race Search Tool, as in its origin it was only used for F1. The name may be misleading now, as we support many other games/mods nowadays. We decided to keep the name however, as it is familiar with many, many users from the past and as a sort of honor to the original founders. It’s an online client, developed to ease your life of online racing. You can chat with other users in the lobby or via private messaging, see who is online, what sessions and mods are run at the moment, create and join races, start a dedicated server and join the leagues and special events — all through the client itself. The idea is to automate all of this as much as possible so that the user doesn’t have to occupy himself with anything, except for the racing itself.

F1RST3 Client Interface
The above only describes in very short what the F1RST client is. But F1RST3 is much more than that! In fact the client only is the interface for the user. Behind it there is way more!
