SimHQ.com - Motorsports Zone - Feature: The Donington Grand Prix Collection

Finding myself with an invitation to come to the UK for a short vacation, I took the opportunity to visit the Donington Grand Prix Collection; showcasing more than 120 cars spanning almost a century of motor racing history.

I hope you'll enjoy the photos I took, lighting conditions were at times tricky, but there's nothing quite like being there so if you find yourself in the region and have half a day to spare, I thoroughly recommend you visiting. East Midlands Airport is right beside the track but check the air fares first! Birmingham is also not too far away if you're hiring a car or otherwise set for transport. The drive there is about 30 minutes.

The cars are displayed in five halls but for this feature I have tried to group them into more categories; Indy Cars, and Formula 1. There are a few exhibits relating to endurance racing, but the focus of the collection is definitely open-wheelers.
