Settings for Logitech G25 Wheel/Shifter/Pedals
Preferences are of course very personal but if you own a steering wheel capable of and calibrated to 900 degree rotation you’ll certainly need to adjust your setup’s steering ratio; I find that 10:1 or even as low as 8:1 works well for me.
The Logitech profiling software I never use and consequently my settings are reduced to:
• Strength: 107%
• Rotation: 900 degrees
• All other sliders at 0%
• Report for combined axes: unticked
• Centering Spring: unticked
In GPL (standard FFB) I use:
• allow_force_feedback = 1
• force_feedback_damping = 240
• force_feedback_latency = .055
• max_steering_torque = 145
I find these settings give me a good feeling for both ends of the car, a sense of mass and inertia, as well as the occasional bump from the road.
Experimental Mod
If you wish to try out the latest findings in terms of refining your force feedback experience, these settings are recommended by the creator of the update, after downloading the patch file:
The main precaution is setting your wheel to have weak forces (gradually increase them later). Set all non-physics forces to zero in your wheel's driver software. Also, remove damping and FFB latency prediction by editing your core.ini (or use GEM+ Controls button) and setting the following FFB values:
• force_feedback_damping = 0
• force_feedback_latency = 0
• max_steering_torque = 400
The max_steering_torque value should initially be higher than what you normally use, because the standard gpl FFB contains damping. The patch allows occasional strong forces to go to the wheel, so to be safe, the max_steering_torque must be increased.
Set all non-physics forces in your wheel's driver software to zero. For example, Logitech G25 users should try setting Spring Effect, Damper Effect, and Centering Spring to zero.
