SimHQ Fuji 2.5 Endurance Race

 SimHQ has been hosting sim racing for over 3 years, and none of the series or special events has been more successful than the current Carpe Noctem Design Group ILMS v2.77P road racing series for the LM-P1, LM-P2, LM-GT1 and LM-GT2 classes of cars.
The obvious challenge in hosting any race sim series is, locating a compelling car set and tracks that will spark a commitment with sim drivers who for the most part, are already severely "time-challenged" with life's responsibilities. But the "2.5" series, which represents a non-stop race (except for pit stops) of 150 minutes duration seems to evoke the "right" combination of interest and commitment, at least for now. By using rFactor's time compression feature set at 10x, an around-the-clock race complete with dusk, night time, and dawn lighting conditions is simulated.
The enthusiasm has been considerably bolstered by the inclusion of several fabulous drivers joining the 2.5 races from the Average Drivers Club. They are "gentlemen racers" whose goals are synonymous with those of SimHQ Motorsports drivers — friendly, competitive racing salted with lots-of-fun.
Starting with the DEUCE2 at the fictitious Orchard Lake track in January; then proceeding to the Rouen 2.5 in March, and the Fuji 2.5 in April, the events have been highly-competitive while the entry list has grown with each event. The Fuji 2.5 represents the largest multiplayer event in the 11-year history of SimHQ with 36 drivers registered and 31 drivers attending. The 2.5 event at Mid Ohio Sports Car Course on May 25th will carry forward the next chapter in the series.
