Review: Logitech DriveFX™ Racing Wheel

Underneath the right and left spokes are two large shifter buttons so that manual transmission freaks can go through the gears.
Shifter
One small gripe here. The buttons are on the smallish side, I would have preferred full paddle shifters, but it didn’t take very long for me to get accustomed to them.
The pedals are robust and stiff, allowing analog control over the throttle and brakes and are connected to the wheel’s base with a serial port connector. Another small gripe here. It should feature some sort of locking mechanism as mine came loose once or twice.
Connectors
The internal motors of the wheel require a separate power connection and the wheel is connected to the console via USB port. The whole assembly is designed to be locked to a desk, table, or racing chair, and the clamping assembly is very similar to Logitech’s previous console wheel superstar, the Driving Force Pro.
The clamps can be undone far enough to accommodate my 1-¼ inch thick oak desktop, courtesy of the Alma Desk Company of High Point, North Carolina, or ratcheted down to fit just about any thinner desktops with ease. This is not some kiddie wheel. This is a serious racing wheel designed to suit the gamer that wants the most from his console racing experience and I liked this feature about it.
