Review: FSX Performance Testing

High Setting. The frame rate continued to plummet steeply again for all three processors, though the new Intel CPUs maintained their significant leads over the Athlon 64. This category, however, did see the previous deltas between the two Core 2 processors narrow to almost identical scores. A significant jump in water detail also occurs with FSX’s options configured at this setting, as apparent in the screenshot.

Ultra High Setting. The two Intel CPUs drop into the mid-20s frame rate at Ultra High, with the FX-62 barely hanging on at 20fps across the four tested resolutions. And both Core 2 Duos are basically running neck-to-neck, though with frame rates this low that 2fps lead of the X6800 is almost a 10% advantage. The city of Rio De Janeiro is also noticeably more detailed in this category of settings.
