Software Installation

Like most USB products, installation of software and drivers is required before plugging in your new G25. Logitech provides its traditional Wingman software, in this case the new version 5.0 build, which is required for the G25 to function. This new Wingman software is noteworthy for Logitech Momo Racing and Driving Force Pro owners, as it includes an all-new pedal auto-calibration routine intended to circumvent the problems found with the earlier wheels when using the 4.X series software.

Logitech’s staff is confident that consumers will find this new software to be much more robust than the previous iterations. For current Logitech product owners, there’s one downside about the Wingman 5.0 software you should know about now: When you click to install, it will prompt you that it is uninstalling your earlier version Wingman software. And then it does it, including all of your personalized settings for buttons, axes, force feedback response, etc. And it removes the settings of every Logitech item you own, including joysticks. So my advice to you is to take screenshots or notes on the setup profiles of every Logitech item you have BEFORE installing the 5.0 software. It’ll save you a lot of time reconstructing your favorite game-specific settings and button/axis assignments.

Uninstalling software.
