Test Results – Real World (continued)
GTR2 was tested with a custom recording of a crowded grand prix track. The title’s configuration tool was used to enable its DX9 profile.
At the low setting, GTR2’s frame rate soars with higher clock speeds, with a solid 15% performance gain from overclocking the QX9650. The QX9770, however, trailed behind by roughly 3%, and the title’s frame rates flattened for all three processors once its in-game settings were increased.
Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 (GRAW2) was tested via repeated run-throughs of the middle portion of the title’s first mission.
GRAW2 sees a 6% gain from overclocking the QX9650, with the new Yorkfield again falling in the middle. At the higher setting, however, the frame rate again plateaus among the three parts due to the application’s use of graphics-intensive features such as bloom.
