- PCME has an exclusive hands-on first look at F/A-18 = Hornet:=20 Korea from Graphic=20 Simulation. They added several exclusive 3Dfx screen=20 shots.

- According to the guys at the Unofficial F1 Racing=20 Simulation, UbiSoft's F1 gem should be available as = early as=20 this weekend for you lucky people in Europe. The rest of = Europe will=20 have it next week.

- Word from Operation = 3Dfx about=20 Red Baron 2 is that its in beta and should be out just = before=20 Christmas. A 3Dfx patch should follow in late Jan = early Feb=20 98.

- Interactive Magic has closed their regular = message=20 board. I am currently evaluating the possibility of adding a = message=20 board to my site. My concerns at the moment are the same = IM's.=20 Having a good portion of those people coming to my = site can be=20 very good but may also be bad. Please stay tune.

- = More good=20 news for racing fans. Getzen (from UCPRH) mentions on his page = that Microsoft=20 will be porting CART Precision Racing to Glide. This news = was=20 annouced on the newgroups. 3Dfx owners will finally get the=20 performance they deserve. ;)

- There is more news = about the=20 3Dfx patch for Nascar Racing 2 from Papyrus / Sierra. According to a small interview at Operation 3Dfx, the person stated that the = patch=20 should be out before Christmas. I can't wait! :)

- Combat = Simulations=20 has put up a page on Longbow 2 Campaign=20 and Beginner Tips

- Surprise!! = Welcome=20 to the new Simulations Headquarters. I've been working on = this=20 design for a while now and after asking few of you, this is = the=20 result. For all the people who helped me in getting the best = design=20 or testing it... I thank you. The page has kept the same = general=20 information plus more. As you can see, we will be doing = previews,=20 reviews and maybe some interviews too. Oh, did I say WE. = Simulations=20 Headquarters has now grow to add to more to this site. I'm = very=20 happy to announce Eric Berns and = John=20 Miller have come aboard as Editors. Both have = previous=20 experience in the field and will contribute enormously. As = you may=20 have noticed, the Crimson has been dropped due to my two new = teammates. :) I will however keep the general same look due = to its=20 popularity and signature. Some new projects will come soon = like a=20 patch list to all the latest patches available. I may also = do a=20 message board! I'm currently looking into it. I will also do = some=20 surveys every once in a while.
I still have = bit of=20 work to do with this design. Soon, you will be able to see = the=20 release dates when viewing products and I may include such = info as=20 if it supports Direct3D or Glide or any native API. The = "RELEASE=20 LIST" will stay in case you were wondering. One thing that = will be=20 changing often is the background in the navigation frame. It = will=20 change to whatever is the next new sim that will be=20 available.....I'm sure you all know why the Apache is up = now.=20 :)

-=20 PC Multimedia = &=20 Entertainment (PCME) have put up an interview with the producer of Falcon 4 = from Microprose.

- PCME has got the news that F/A-18 Hornet: Korea from Graphic = Simulations=20 will master tomorrow.

- Interesting development over at Graphic = Simulation.=20 Gabe, the lead programmer at GSC, is leaving the company. = The Mac=20 version of F/A-18 Hornet: Korea has been delayed till Dec = but the pc=20 version is still on course for a late Nov release. According = to the=20 message, it may be going gold any day now. Rumor is Nov 14! = A big=20 thanks goes out to Excalibur for pointing me to the info. = Here's=20 part of the message:

Unfortunately it's=20 true that I'm leaving GSC. I've had a job offer I = couldn't=20 turn down in Seattle, and Nov. 20th is my last = day at=20 GSC. The parting is an amicable one, and I'll be = doing=20 bug-fixes and such remotely from Seattle. This move won't affect the release of = the PC=20 version of F/A-18 Korea (since it will already have = been=20 released), but unfortunately it WILL = delay the=20 Mac version a bit. The Mac version was going to be = released a=20 bit later than the PC version anyway, but this will = probably=20 add another 2 week delay. Sorry guys. :(=20

in more of a trickle than an = avalanche. =20 Just a heads-up, 'cuz I know you

Anyway, looks like they'll be = leaving the=20 EA docks late on 11/13 and should
be on store = shelves by=20 11/17, maybe earlier. I don't have confirmation=20 on

- 3Dfx news! Gamecenter has some news on the 3Dfx Voodoo 2. Diamond = Multimedia=20 will be the first to announce a product based on the chip. I = know=20 its not sim related but I a lot of sim fans have a 3Dfx=20 card.

- JetFighter III: Platinum Edition from Mission=20 Studios has started appearing in stores. The new version = contains the original JF3, the Enhanced Campaign CD, updated = 3Dfx=20 code, Mission Editor, over 200 missions and 20 million = square miles=20 of terrain. My thanks to Rhard for letting me know.

- = There a=20 site devoted to F1 Racing Simulation from UbiSoft, it's the = Unofficial F1 Racing=20 Simulation Page. - I added Laminar Research to the = "FLIGHT",=20 "LINKS", and "RELEASE LIST" for their product X-Plane. = In 98, they=20 will release a new version of their civil flight sim using = DID's F22=20 ADF graphics engine. X-Plane is believed to be THE most = realistic=20 civil flight sim but its current version has dated=20 graphics.

- Interested in a Search and Rescue = Helicopter sim?=20 Well, Intense=20 Entertainment has a sim for you. Search and Rescue will = have=20 over 40 missions ranging from daring sea rescues, police = actions,=20 wildlife herding, UFO hunts, fire-fighting and more. It will = contain=20 12 realistic S & R helicopters modeled after their real = ones. A=20 detailed weather engine also adds to the realism.
