	As the CCIP pipper crosses the control tower I mash the pickle button one more time and pull hard off the target toward the south.
	My bombs hit just short of the control tower near the wood-line, but when you drop 4000 pounds of high-explosive in one spot you don’t have to get too close to make things break!
	The blast tears apart the control tower and topples the radio tower. The airfield lies in ruins behind us as we tear southbound in full burner. The MiG-23s are very close now and the rest of the flight is begging me to turn them loose to engage, but I know our mission is done and we are all low on gas.
	My master caution light is illuminated…
	…reminding me to change the configuration switch on the panel from CAT III to CAT I, restoring full maneuverability to my aircraft.
	As we blaze south the Bitchin’ Betty cries out “Bingo-Bingo” and I know my fuel is being gulped at a prodigious rate, but the MiG-23s are still closing. I glance down and see we are down to 1600 pounds.
	Yet another threat looms on our left flank as a flight of MiG-21s enters the arena. They show up on my RWR scope and I’m relieved to see a CAP flight of F-4s move aggressively toward them.
	As soon as we cross the FLOT I climb slightly and ease up on the throttle. A few miles from Osan I declare an emergency and the tower clears me for a straight in approach. As I turn final I glance down and see a mere 200 pounds of fuel left and both forward and aft tank low fuel warning lights illuminated.
