There is a lot to see and experience in FSX that is better and improved. The minute I finish this article, I’ll go fly around some other part of the virtual world and discover something else I’ll have wished I could put in here. So many of the small details like the vapor trails coming off the wings, or the flexing of the struts on the Extra when you land can’t be summed up properly in a review. For every one thing I mention there are probably ten I’ve forgotten (that ratio probably works for the bugs too keep in mind!).
Much of the fun in any type of flight simulator, even for us professional pilots, is the ability to explore and do things that go way outside the bounds of our normal everyday jobs. Whether it is flying a Caravan into Lukla airport near Mount Everest (tough little approach, give it a shot!) or taking a helicopter into Yosemite Valley (Half-Dome and El Capitan are well represented) or just doing some turns in the pattern at Oshkosh, there is something in FSX (and FS9 for that matter) for everyone interested in aviation.
