Where Are the Promised Downloads?
Wow, it’s been a long time since SimHQ has had a files downloads area. Much too long.
What was hoped to be available for the rollout is still under construction. The gateway is sitting there waiting for the nearly 5000 files to be linked to the two databases. Matter-of-fact, that’s the cause of the delay. We had no idea we’d collected so many files and it took much longer than we ever anticipated to get them all online and catalogued. The new downloads area dwarfs the previous one many times over. The good news is all files are now uploaded and they’re sitting there ready-to-go soon as the databases are completed.
Our plan is to provide every legacy file we could locate for simmers on the web. First the legacy content, then the new exclusive files that…. whoops! I almost said too much.
David “Stormtrooper” Tessier is our Downloads Manager and we’ve given him lots of work to do. He and guod are working on the two databases that will drive this monster.
So when damnit, when? Soon. We promise.
SimHQ.TV
The newly launched SimHQ.TV is now up-and-running. You can find the link on the SimHQ.com top menu. All kinds of great stuff in there, including real world aviation, exclusive Armor and Land Combat videos, Motorsports, SimHQ produced videos from features and reviews. SimHQ.TV brings a consolidated multimedia world to SimHQ, and it will continue to grow. Look for SimHQ.TV to provide some exclusive videos for new sims over the next several months.
And we encourage any of you budding sim movie directors out there to submit your own creations. Contact guod if you would like to upload your latest mission or event movies and have them hosted at SimHQ.TV!
All We All Set Now?
No, of course not. Remember what I said earlier about our mission. That doesn’t happen in one or two steps. There will be more good things coming. We will not stop evolving SimHQ. Just tell us what you like to see and we’ll take a look at it. We really do listen to what you say. Are we perfect? No, heck no, if we were we’d be in the thick of the stock market and… well, never mind about that. We will continue to listen, adjust / modify the site with your expectations in mind.
