In addition to the map the GPS and COMPASS windows provide additional data to help you navigate your ship properly. The COMPASS tab allows you to select different overlays for the external view, placing a compass rose beneath your vessel and bearing pointers that will show you things such as the course over the ground, course to waypoint, and true and apparent wind directions. Just as in an aircraft, wind affects the course of your vessel; altering your heading or power may be required to steer your desired course.
Once you’ve met the mission requirements a dialogue box will pop up congratulating you for completing the mission and listing any damage that you accumulated. One small gripe I have is that in order to end many of the missions you are required to moor your vessel at the final waypoint. Unfortunately, this task is almost too easy and doesn’t require the finesse and fine handling that one might expect.
