That's just to let you know that Steam is having a flash sale for TOH with a 66% off, which makes it less than $20 for the game + Hinds DLC bundled. I was waiting for that to buy it, at $20 it can only be worth it.

These flash sales are tiring wink as we just needed to check it once a day and now there's loads of things all the time..

Its this one thing thats irritating me about steam at the moment and these Flash Sales. They had this on offer overnight in the UK...
Saw it this morning whilst getting ready for work on my iphone but due to the very early time in the morning and not wanting to wake the family up(and running Late oops) Wasn't able to get it..Surely it will make the big sale??

Keep an eye open for another round, I think I've seen some games appear twice in the flash sales already, and I think some appear as flash sales and possibly as 1 day offers, so I bet you'll see TOH at 66% off again.

If you don't like Steam (or if, like me,they won't let you access the games you paid for over the last n years) you can get the bundle for £17.49 from GetGames (and A-10C for £19.99 - funny that Just Flight is selling it as a 'stand alone sim' for £23.99, usually £29.99/$39.99! Wonder if that will make it DCSW compatible with the module from DCS, or if they are just screwing people who don't know better?).

I've not yet made up my mind about TOH, though - I tried the demo and wasn't massively overwhelmed by it.

However, the current price does make it tempting...

It's a helluva lot more than ten bucks, but it comes without Steam and we're used to getting ripped off here in the UK wink

JonnyD - TOH has improved quite a bit from the demo, especially with patch 1.04. There are still some dynamics pieces missing, but it's a fun game as is and really stresses your helo flying skills.

Hmmm, well I'm still tempted, but I'm going to take my time about deciding, as long as they are keeping this price for a while (have to check).

The many reviews I've read are rather mixed in their opinion of it - though they were all made before any patches were released, but in any case it's the actual gameplay and flight dynamics that would sway my decision. I have to admit to having become a bit frustrated with BS of late - since BS2 my control seems a bit lacking (erratic would be a better word) compared with the original BS and I'm puzzled why that should be. TOH could scratch my VTOL itch in the meantime copter

The single player campaign will hold your attention for a decent amount of time. This isn't as deep as BS/2, but it's a good time. The Heli's are more friendly than the 'Shark too, so controls shouldn't be an issue. Be aware, the Flight model is still pretty unforgiving of ham-fisiting, as it should be for rotary flight. Mastering trim interactions and a light touch will reward you in ToH as it does in real-life.

WHile I haven't tried it, the addition of the ability to easily import Arma Terrain shoud give several more hours of NoE flying, and hopefully mission builders will step in and make use of it.

My only gripe is that the Hinds DLC didn't work on my PC because of some DRM related non-sense.
