As a test using UAW160 with an old map exe I tried a 1944 RAF career with the default ETO theatre and planeset.

That's a pretty rapid DFC!

In response to a question in the GoG EAW forum I did a test of a career flight using the GoG 1.28 mod.
The question referred to CTDs in careers in the GoG 1.2 version after a few missions when the exe tries display a career video.
They wanted to know it the 1.28 version had the same problem.

So I did a test, flying a mission in a jug, quitting near the target, and then taking the next mission.
I flew 11 missions.
There were no videos and no CTD :

It's in my mind that we disabled running of the smacker videos altogether some versions back because windows 10 didn't like them.

Was this about the time we disabled running of the intro videos because of the change to 1024x768 screens?

I cannot remember for sure. However, I am now sure that the GoG 1.28 can handle careers.

Some great pics there, takes me back to when I spent ages on this great sim. Interestingly I've noted that the mission frequency is still one roughly every two weeks. Other campaigns had slightly more frequent missions as I remember but it was never daily. Was this ever addressed in any of the versions? So you could fly every day?

"A great deal of an aeroplane could be holed without affecting its ability to fly. Wings and fuselage could be—and often were—pierced in 50 places, missing the occupants by inches (blissfully unaware of how close it had come until they returned to base). Then the sailmaker would carefully cover each hole with a square inch of Irish linen frayed at the edges and with a brushful of dope make our aircraft 'serviceable' again within an hour."

In DOM's Attack in the West campaign, he found a way to adjust mission fequency. See this screen from his AITW utility:

I don't think we ever managed anything like this in other campaigns.

Thanks Moggy. I knew it was a tough nut to crack. I didn't realise anyone had ever managed to achieve it.
