Sailonline.org Is a free online racing community / app that Is server based. You register, download the app (client) and then join online races that are hosted on the Sailonline server. It uses real time weather and has a unique user boat handling feature(s). You can be offline and still be racing so no need to be dependent of you´re boat handling which can use a autopilot feature. Manual can be found on the website.

Sad news...
Mr IIan Papini (developer of Virtual Sailor and Vehicle Simulator) died yesterday when his plane crashed. He was also a pilot. Died at the hospital, probably at the age of 60.

Very sad. Creative sim talent who explored new twists like “Fire Flight” and “Rocket simulator”. He emphasized open formats jn design. His virtual sail is very relaxing and entertaining.

I agree Vox! I was quite surprised when I saw the news on his forum. His Vehicle Simulator, which has many features of Virtual Sailor (water physics etc.) Is really a very flexible platform. It´s a bit like Beam NG but you also have Air and Sea simulation so you can have all sorts of things going on, and It has a editor! So yes, he really made some unique stuff. A big loss to all I think.
