I’ve made it to the final episode, but only with gritted teeth and liberal use of fast forward

- first few episodes excellent then tails away.
- idea of multiverses colliding not original but treatment is mildly original
- good actors except for the poor kid who is expected to carry nearly every episode with her constant ‘i am scared and about to cry’ face
- heavy reliance on mcguffins (Cal machine that causes multiverse collisions, a fishing boat that can pick up multiverse messages if it just sails 5 miles off Sweden’s coast, a tape recorder that allows children to speak across multiverses, mirrors that show multiverse images)
- second half of the series lazy, just repeating earlier episodes or plot points from different characters’ viewpoints, adding nothing new. five episodes of material stretched too thin.
- blurb for series finale says ‘Jo is taken to a rehab clinic where the truth is revealed’. Thing is she is the only one who doesn't know what is going on since we in the audience have been told over and over again, so chances of this finale being memorable are … meh.

Unlike Masters of the Air, I stuck it out, but this is not one that goes into the 'classic box' the way Silo did.

Should maybe have read the Rolling Stone Review … ‘Constellation; In Space No-one Can Hear You Snore.’

I haven't seen it but I may check it out someday. I see it has a rating of 7.0 on IMDB so it seems like it has a significant number of fans.

I like straight up science fiction with an emphasis on science, this sounds like a lot of fantasy and paranormal.

I'll pass for now but I might get bored some day.

Unfortunately there are very slim pickings on streaming when it comes to hard scifi. As you alluded to, the great majority of what gets advertised as "scifi" actually falls under "supernatural". The last hard scifi series I watched was Altered Carbon and that was about 5 years ago.

Hence the reason the wife and I just finished up Star Trek TOS, TNG and are now just starting season 2 of DS9.

I watched the recently released 3 Body Problem on Netflix. It seems to follow the major beats of the books while altering the characters away from a Chinese cast, and doing some splitting of characters/merging of characters. The series seems to be setting itself up to tell the story of all 3 books, with elements of each present in the first series. The books are pretty hard science based sci-fi, and for the most part the Netflix series seems to be sticking to that with the exception of the presence of a weird VR headset that seems to be sci-fi magic. I really don't know why they didn't just stick to normal VR tech as per the books, but it's a single data point so far, the rest seems solid.

Just watched the season finale for this one… all I can say it’s a strange ‘mystery’ where the audience has known for several episodes what the ‘mystery is’ and it’s only the characters in the finale who have to finally work it out. Beware of rave reviews in paid media for this one too. The audience score of 67 on Rotten Tomatoes is closer to reality.
