First part will be released in June. Here's the trailer
It's a big map so they're splitting the map into 3 sections, East, North and South West. The Southwest region is the most complete and will be out first. Supposedly the whole map will be released, but only that section will be highly detailed. They also added in the option to buy just the section of the map if you wanna save a couple bucks and know you're only going to use a part of the map.

I have little interest in the Afghanistan map, its just more desert (but with MOUNTAINS!!) and doesn't go far enough south to include the norther Arabian Sea and thus carrier aviation.
But I don't really have a problem with the 3-way divided and pricing system in concept but I don't think the size of this map warrants dividing into 3 sections/detail levels or whatever.

It seems to be a pretty obvious money grab hidden behind the veil of "choice". At any rate, after all the updates and multi threading it runs like a$$ for me and I don't even have it installed anymore.
The South Atlantic map full price is $70 The Afghanistan map full price is $70 Normandy map (smaller than Afghanistan) is $60 The Nevada map, which is ancient and not quite as large as Afghanistan is planned to be, is still $50!

So your frame rate dropped after the multi-threading was added?

I don't care... I will buy the full map if my funds allow it. I have an 8 yr old pc, DCS runs pretty well on it... multi threading has improved performance for me as well.

You get quite a hefty discount so pre-ordering is definitely worth it!

Maybe, but it did absolutely nothing for me. Initially, I think it smoothed things out a bit (possibly). I re-installed last month and found it was not very good at all. It is a known thing that multi doesn't get along well with older processors, so it's not unexpected I suppose. At any rate, it sits until I can get an updated system.
