For the Mi-24 I've altered the start procedure somewhat as a result of learning more about how the real Mi-24 is started. So I made a little video with the new procedure. And I guess it also shows off a little of the new cockpit
Here's
the video (54 MB). Or if that's too much to download, then there is a low-quality version on
youtube.
The full procedure for the Mi-24 is:
1 Turn on electrical and hydraulic systems (ctrl+K)
2 Start APU (ctrl + /)
3 Release rotor brake (R). Note: the engines won't start with brake engaged!
4 Press left engine starter (ctrl + ,)
5 Wait for left N1 RPM to climb above 15%
6 Open left engine shutoff valve (2x ,)
7 Wait for left N1 RPM to climb to idle RPM (around 70%). Check engine temperature. Ensure rotor RPM is climbing to about 60%.
8 Repeat steps 4 to 7 for right engine (use . key instead of ,)
9 Enable other systems you need, like wipers, fan, HUD, weapons etc.
10 Twist governor throttle on collective full right (alt . to increase, alt , to decrease)
11 Wait for rotor RPM to reach 95-97%
12 Increase collective and take off
13 Raise landing gear (ctrl + G)
But as previously, the start-up procedure is optional, and you can begin the mission with everything already running.
