The very nice cockpit of the Bristol Beaufighter in IL-2.
I've been flying a New Guinea campaign in the Beaufighter, fourth mission, tasked to attack a seaplane base on the southern coast so take some rockets, make several passes, dodge the buzzing AA from two nearby sites, destroy some infrastructure and one AA gun, then on the way home, decide to take out some truck traffic on the main E-W road but those guys are good shots and I got a fuel leak. Check the map, I see I've stirred up a couple of enemy fighters. I don't want to tangle with them, so I hightail it toward home. Check the plane, right aileron is shot through.
My runway is a very narrow strip cut through a coconut grove and my first pass is high and off-center so I go around...meanwhile an enemy fighter is chasing one of my squadron mates back to base. I have the make this next pass work, and I do. As I roll to a stop I hear the air rail sirens going off. Shut'er down and head for the barn! Whew!
That picture reminds me of when you're kids and your buddy rides on the handle bar of your bike. Look at him go, he looks like he's having so much fun out there. Watch out for flak buddy!

I just played this very mission in the same campaign last night. The campaign is called Bush Pigs I believe. Nicely done.
Those planes that chase you home were Rufes. The seaplane version of the A6M2. I initially outran them to base, but then turned to face them because they were harassing my mates. Surprisingly I found them easily handled. They wound up as smoking holes in the ground not far from base. The awesome firepower of the Beau was a big help.
And I'll agree that the makeshift base is a nice touch - but also somewhat of a challenge on landings.
Well, I had to go into the mission builder and change the weather from rainy to hazy so I could see what the hell I was doing. So I find the grounded ship, drop two bombs low to skip into the freighter, that seemed to work pretty well, then I break right out to see a cruiser of some sort lofting BBs at me like it's the fourth of July, Jap version.
I'm leaking fuel and skedaddle, call Washboard and they give me a heading back to base, worked out real well, I'm swinging around final approach and what do I see but a damn Rufe, closing fast. I clean up flaps and gear and start climbing...he dives and I hose off a strong stream of 20mm, get lucky and nail him, what a rookie. So I'm watching him auger in and damned if he didn't almost take out the approach end of my runway.
Land, brake hard and try to ignore the smell of roasted Nip.
I'll see if I can scrounge something up from another favorite later.

BMS Falcon with the Guam theater add-on. The theater is still in alpha stage, but looks amazing from altitude.

Freefalcon, ODS theater with a self-created campaign file. This is from the pilot seat of the A-6.

This shot is from F1: 2012. I didn't mean to take this shot, I must have accidentally clicked the screenshot button. What's amazing to me, though, is all of the detail in this game. I don't think I really appreciated it until I saw this still shot. Check the reflection in the paint on the car. Amazing.

Last shot. This is Balmora in Morrowind, with the graphics overhaul mod. I still owe Morrowind a proper playthrough.

Thanks! That's the best part of Hawx 2, the game itself isn't very good. LOL The first is World in Conflict w/Soviet Assault, the racing ones are NFS: Shift 1, a few mods, but mostly for the cars/racing.

I should probably be honest and admit that since I actually work with the Eurofighter it was waaaay too easy. I can also point out all the things that differ from the real one, but that would be bragging.

It's mostly the normal mapping capability that now comes with AnKor's Shaders. It provides the illusion of small scale bumps and grooves to the surface of the textured polys.
So, is that what the WOFF's "Wings Over the Reich" is going to look like? It's amazing how these private little teams get so much out of some of the graphics engines in these old games.

Like CFS3 as it now stands because it is easy to mod as WOTR most likely not be easy to mod as it is payware. I'm sure it will be worth it and i'll be first in line to get it. If WOFF is any indication WOTR will be outstanding. Still enjoy CFS3 and have all the expansions and some custom ones too . Also into IL-2 1946 . The best two sims for WWII to me. Regards,Scott
Only have a couple p-40 Flying Tiger skins screenies from an EAW flight last year..
wasn't a China scenario - used intercept mission files from default EAW defending England - but showing results good I got 3 109G-2 's !
Another one of my favorite screenies I made by chancer: lagg3 in EAW
You might notice I got an amazing 71 fps on Linux running EAW on Linux when I took the shot!
EAW is faster on my machine running under Wine on Linux (Mint 1,8 ~ ubuntu 16.04 LTS - intel video laptop 2.23 GHZ) than anyone else has ever reported on Windows
IL-2 1946 HSFX 7.03 - Kanto map (Mod map) Not a bad landing considering both fuel tanks were on fire. It ended on it's top after the fuel tank blew up. Everyone in the crew survived to become guests of the Japanese.
Lol, I agree Coot. At the altitude I was flying bailing out was not an option. As it was the aircraft engines quit just as I touched down making the landing even more lucky.
IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 HSFX 7.03. Random shots from a mission I am building for our squad to play on the "Northern Spain winter" (Jir_Northern_Spain_1936/load_win.ini) map. I had the High Gore settings enabled.
This one was for the Doolittle raid. (Task Force 16 returning from launching the raid/)
Nice one Wheels. Here is one of my all time favorites from IL2 Pacific Fighters. It was a little mission I made with opposing Carriers on either side of an island and the fight to the death of the planes that launched from it. It would be either Wildcats, Hellcats or Corsairs against Zeroes. Me and a buddy of mine would spend countless hours in a privately hosted Hyperlobby Coop match. Ah, the good old days!

Found a small clearing on Vella La Vella that looked promising. This area is close but it is not the same location used on later maps for the historical airstrip.
I liked the runway and taxiway layout of Version 1 but I hated the look of the hard points. The runway length was 800 meters. Just about 2625 feet. Pretty short but good enough for a fighter strip.
I liked Version 2 even more but I still hated how the hard points were falling in place. By rotating it more I got the runway to be 1 kilometer long. Just about 3281 feet.
I discarded all the hard points I had already placed and went another direction with the hard points. This is the final version. The runway is still 1 kilometer long and there is a fairly large parking area too.
It was designed to be a functioning Dogfight HomeBase for Player flown aircraft. It will work in that capacity for takeoff and landings quite well. It will also work with the AI for takeoffs if you use the taxi to takeoff option. Landings are much more problematic so I fly AI aircraft to another airfield to land.
I just need to add a tower and some building to give it its final look.
IL-2 Great Battles. Flight flown Sunday May 05, 2024 on the Danger Dogz mod server. A little too close for comfort. The cockpit view that sees the Me-109 in its windscreen is from my cockpit looking at the Me-109. The Cockpit view with the Hurricane flying directly in front of it is from the pursuing aircraft. I had two near mid-airs in less than two seconds.
I flew underneath the Me-109 and went vertical in front of the Hurricane that was chasing it.
