Hi Tony, Please review this thread in detail as he has the same problem. Glad the FPS is better. This offers you a game play option until 2,04. http://www.simhq.com/simhq3/sims/boards/bbs/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=130;t=000815

Hi all,
Tony, glad to see your problems are diminishing.
As promised above here's my latest news.
After ringing a guy (thanks Dave) that PC Aviator recommended, my freeze/stutter problems seem to have finally disappeared (touch wood).
I had a full day yesterday to address the problems and basically I uninstalled all sims, installed the latest ATI X800 drivers, bought and installed a copy of O&O Defrag V8, ran the PC Aviator tweaks that Buddye1 recommended earlier in these posts, reinstalled only BoB II so far (with the 2.04 test patch), and made a thorough search for background programs to switch off.
Happy to say that I've just gone through 5 different instant action missions with no problems.
I was able to run the Battle of Britain Day scenario with water, clouds and most other graphics settings on 'High' and got frame rates in the low 20's, dipping into the high teens at times, but no freezes.
On less intensive scenarios I'm getting frame rates in the 30's to 40's with most settings on high.
I have to say that the sim is 'stunningly' good when everything runs smoothly. I bought the original BoB, but could never get it to run 'quite' right. I was getting to the point where I was thinking the experience would be the same with this version. I really can't express how happy I am to finally (let's touch wood just one more time) have the sim running as it should.
Thanks so much to all who offered opinions and advice. It's great to be part of a community where people help each other out in a constructive way.
Can't wait to get the final version of 2.04.
Well, it's only a bit after 11pm here... maybe just a couple more 'Instant Actions' before I hit the hay.
Cheers all

I've just installed my copy. Was having lots of graphic issues (blurriness, bad water, tearing cloud/sky textures etc), and began tweaking, using experience drawn from BoB1.
Initially I was getting FPS of 12-13, as some have complained of. I set horizon to 'near', and tweaked the view distance factor to 0.5000 (in the BDG text, though you can also change it in the game settings.) Water to high; most other settings medium/high.
Finally, I noticed that while the game options screen showed my resolution as 1024x768x32 at 75hz, actually in bdg.txt it showed as 60hz - so I changed that there too. (And I think it had actually been 60hz, since there was a lot of blurriness.)
The result was much clearer graphics, and FPS of 25-30+. Not completely problem-free still, but maybe getting there.
Machine is an old P4 2.4; graphics card is a miserly Geforce FX5900XT with old 71.89 drivers (good for the card). Filtering is set to 'all' in game and Aniso x8 in video card settings. FSAA is 2XQ.
Sorry if this is all old hat, but I didn't spot these tweaks elsewhere, rightly or wrongly.

Hi CatsEyes, What are you running. 2.03 or one of the newer test EXE? You might want to step up to this until 2.04 is delivered in a few weeks: http://www.simhq.com/simhq3/sims/boards/bbs/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=130;t=000815

Yes indeed. I know it has been a long time coming, but 2.04 will be a really big update. We are working through issues right now, bit flying above England has never been so good.
