Excellent interview Spoons. Rottman's got some unique perspective and clearly tells it no-nonsense.

Thanks guys! Gordo's a great guy, and I'm glad we were able to get the interview done and up. I think it's interesting stuff.

Finally had enough time to finish it. Well done! (And thank Gordon for his service.)

Reference the article and this caption here: http://www.simhq.com/_land2/land_075f.htmlSpecial Forces Group (SFG) soldiers with "C" Company, 1st Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment (PIR), armed with an 5.56mm M4 Carbine, take precautionary measures as they search house-to-house for suspected Taliban enemy in the city of Naray, in support of ENDURING FREEDOM. DoD photo by: SPC PRESTON E. CHEEKS, USA (24 Jan 2003) Those are not SF guys in the pic and SF Operators are not assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division.

You know, I had something similar to the same thought on that pic, Hatchet, but didn't think that hard about it. Now that you mention it, it makes more sense.
Photo is from the Pentagon itself, so I can only take them at their word of what the photo is or isn't, unfortunately. My assumption was that there were SF soldiers with them at the time, or operating with them, and the caption was typed wrong.

Hatchet,
You're in the business, obviously....have any thoughts on the interview? I'd be curious. PM me if you feel more comfortable, etc. Always interested in comments....

Or the Army didn't want to put their faces on the web and switched out the photo! Not that goofy stuff doesn't happen when editors get bunches of pictures. About a zillion years ago the Fort Lewis Army newspaper had this front page article about the National Guard becoming "high tech" during their Annual Training, blah blah blah. The picture was of myself working a briefcase terminal during the train-up for them, and my 9th ID patch was front and center! Kind of a shame because the NG guys actually did a good job.
The opinions of this poster are largely based on facts and portray a possible version of the actual events. More dumb stuff at http://www.darts-page.comFrom Laser: "The forum is the place where combat (real time) flight simulator fans come to play turn based strategy combat."

I am mortally embarassed to have realized that instead of REPLY, I hit EDIT on Hatchet's response. I am so very sorry....was just an absent-minded, head-up-my-***, in-a-hurry mistake.
Am very, very sorry.
