The Storch's FM in the simulation needs some serious work.
As an AI only plane it does well enough, but there is some real weirdness to the FM.
If ever there was a "fly by rails" aircraft, this is it, as there is no limit to what the Storch (or the Po-2) can lift. Unlimited pulling power!
LOL, set up missions where it tows three huge gliders to see what I mean.

And a rainbow. Don't forget the rainbow!
[nice cross-forum reference. Let's see how many read the ARMA forums!]

There's many things I don't understand. Firstly, why do I become about as tactful as... as... a drunken idiot, when I've had several glasses of wine? Hmm, maybe this doesn't need much investigation.
Secondly, why on earth would any hacker want to showcase the Storch's ridiculous flight model???
???
I mean, ????
Seriously guys.

IIRC, with flaps down the stall speed was 23 MPH.
With a stiff wind, she'd take off almost immediately!

I've always wished that this little plane was flyable ME TOO!

It would be cool to go get pilots who have ditched behind enemy lines in the online wars. We'll have the Tiger Moth (and hopefully a German counterpart) for that in BoB! I'm hoping it will be possible to land in a co-op (or whatever the SoW-series equivalent will be), get out of your aircraft, get into the airfield's Tiger Moth and go off in search of your downed comrade. Horribly unrealistic but a load of fun... and Ubi can name it "Battlefield 1940" and get sued again.

Even cooler to be able to do it in one of the flying boats like the Walrus or the He59 both of which are flagged to be in the sim, but only as AI at the moment.
Think of it. You log into the ops room on an online server. Message comes through "Pilot down. 2 miles off Dover" Off you go in your trusty Walrus. First you have to find the pilot, all the time looking out for enemy planes. Hopefully a bit of top cover will be present. Then a sea landing ... in rough conditions. Taxi over to the pilot. Switch to external view to see the pilot climbing on board. Then its take off and back to base... for tea and biscuits. Hoorah! This is exactly how the (utterly brilliant) 'Forgotten Battles' theme still fits in such a well-known theatre as the BoB. A lot of the attraction of Original Il-2 was the unfamiliar combats - and if the fresh, under-exploited mini-theatres of the Channel area, 1940, can be included in SoW:BoB then the game gets a whole extra level of attractiveness. As if it needed it.. Air-sea rescue in Walruses and He59s, Coastal Command anti-submarine patrols in Ansons and Venturas and Sunderlands, night-fighter bomber interception... just to pick stuff from the top of my head which could hopefully be added by adding one or two flyable aircraft per mini-theatre. Could go to a silly extreme though - a campaign replicating exactly the feats of the Castle Bromwich factory test pilots could get tedious...

I always thought of the idea of having the observation planes flyable and have a pilot arm with handgun as a turrent out the left window. Would be cool to have especially with that feature.
theres some famous painting called the last shots of the war with the storch vs stinson, lugar vs 45
- Good dogfighters return home with ammo, The great ones do not.
