Turret explosion mod

Work in Progress. Looking for some input as to if this looks right.

This is actualy a turret explosion after a tank round critical hit. Not a Cook off, my bad there on the jargon.
The graphic displays very quickly. About the time it takes you to open your hand from a closed fist, then close it again.

You probably can't represent the same volume of smoke and volcano like effect, but it looks good within SB's current limits, if a little abrupt as you say.

I have a clip saved somewhere of a T-55A launching the turret after brewing up- it corrobates the same kind of violent explosion.

Great vids Devil. Hopefully in the future we will be able to replicate that. The imersion value to me would great.

Below is a link to version 2. The first had way to much red indicating a "cool" fire. Which this is not.

Version 2. (Actualy about version 102). Link to vid below.

that second version is alot better, I was going to mention to much red in that first...

I did notice that alot of dust and smoke get thrown up along with the explosion...anyway to add that effect, (like the effect when the tank fires, the dust cloud) along with the explosion?

The dust kicking up is dictated by the terrain the victim is sitting in upon impact. You can really only modify the color of this becuase the graphic is used in many other places within the sim. Get it to look right in one aspect, you degrade it in 4 others. Not saying it cant be done though, as we have come along way since that was first said to Fidel and I during smoke and fire mod creation.
