Gents:

OK, I once had a network drive that used the Linksys RS2 (?) and I want to get the files off of it. It's basically just an external drive that I can plug directly into a USB port, I just (obviously) can't read it.

At this point, I'm looking for a good, preferably freeware utility to scan the external drive and transfer the files to my internal storage drive on my desktop.

Can anyone recommend such a utility?

Thanks much y'all!

So, are the files in a Linux formatted disk such as EXT3 or EXT4?

For this, I believe there is software that will allow Windows to read these disk formats, but I have no experience with them.

Another option to consider, is using a Linux LiveCD distribution. I believe some of these allow write access to NTFS volumes while booted in LiveCD mode. With such an arrangement, you could copy the files direct to your NTFS volume.

Read some on these options and see if they are suitable. I'm not aware of any utilities for this kind of operation.

Hi guys-

Late getting back--- sorry.

It's EXT3. I bought one of those #%&*$# RS something fakeo network drive adapters from Linksys a while back, and, now that the Linksys is on the fritz, want to convert the files over....

I remember a good shareware prog for this but am now drawing a blank as to its name.

Any ideas fellahs?

You just need an ext3 driver.

I've never tried this one but it apparently supports ext2 and ext3.
