OK guys, I really want to get EEAH and EECH working with all the mods and patches...I try to follow Gotchas instructions, but when I run the game, and try a mission, all I get is like a white screen...almost looks like i'm in the middle of the century's worst dust storm. So what am I doing wrong, and what is causing this? Also, what MUST be changed in the .ini file, I think the readmes and install instructions are unclear on this...is everything created automatically by the .exe files or what?

Sorry to be a pain in the rear, but I would really like to see what this sim looks like with a major face lift...thanks..

did you install to the default directory or have you at least kept the razorworks directory?

Most of the installs relate to the [drive letter]/Razorworks directory and will automatically install in there.

Locate your eech.ini and game.cfg from the Razorworks/chokum folder and delete them. Start the game again (it will automatically create new ones) and see if you have any joy.

If not, open the eech.ini with notepad and change the line that starts 'cg=0'.....to 'cg=1'. This will reset your graphics files.

If still no joy, copy and paste your eech.ini and here and we will help you get going.

Please list your graphics card, drivers and resolution you are playing with.

I would suggest reinstalling the game, then the first patch and test it. If everything is OK at that stage, continue with gotchas install procedure but test after each stage.

the install of the mods read the razowworks install dir from the windows registry. You do not have to have razorowkrs directly under the drive (mine isn't).
geforce cards with the newest nvidia 70 drivers do not work with this sim.

which mission are you loading?

nah you just need to roll back your driver to the 66.xx versions. I had to do the same to play EECH.

any 60 series driver that suits your card should do

Is the exact problem with the nVidia drivers identified? If not, would it perhaps be better to try to find that, and depending on results either fix the code or give nVidia a bugreport so they can fix their drivers?

Is it worth rolling back to older drivers and risking compatibility problems with other programs?

In other words, what are the real risks involved with installing old drivers?

Sorry...I'm not really that informed when it comes to computer stuff!

Thanks again for all your help guys...

Was the 77.30-drivers shipped with your graphic card or have you updated them?
I'm asking because I don't think there will be any issues using the 60-series drivers on the FX-cards. My son has a GeForce 6600 PCI-express card in his PC, running the 66.xx-drivers w/o prob's.
In my own PC I have the anicent 44.03-drivers but also a card that's from the same age (GF4 4200Ti)

We have no idea why the 70 drivers do not work (or at least I have no idea). Some incompatibility with old directx stuff, although the game is compiled with the last directx library (but that doesn't say much). I wonder if there is not a setting on the graohics card that can be changed (some z-buffering or w-buffering thing or something).

I don't think either there would be a problem usually the drivers are released with a note that indicates changes and from what I have seen they repair problems with very specific games (which you could have of course). They also ususally claim improved performance but that is not always the case.

I have read a couple of times that the none official drivers work better, these are tweaked by usergroups:
omega drivers: http://www.omegadrivers.net/
dna force drivers: http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1154

I am using 77.72 on my FX5900XT and the game runs great with the most recent exe. I never had any problems with the previous exes either.

Sys: XPPro SP2, 1 gig ram, P4 3.0 Ghz, on board sound, 77.72 drivers on FX5900XT.

EDIT: with average FPS of 50. 25ish with FLIR on. (tnl=0)

But then, LB2 also works (can fly the Kiowa, can use the ingame map etc.) perfectly on my system without having to limit RAM and I am not using win95 compatibility mode either.

That's rare, but I am not complaining \:D

My 5900xt displayed white as per Grunt with the 70 series driver loaded but runs fine under the sixty series drivers.

I'm using 77.30 drivers with my 6800 with no problems at all....although if I turn on FSAA I lose my mouse pointer when I'm in the far right side of the mission map (not really a problem though).

Regards..
