Hi everyone. I just reloaded EECH and installed the latest Christmas patch. I have not added anything else at this point. I started he game, entered the options menu..Changed Graphics to 1680x1050, max everything. Changed realism to realitic, renamed profile to that of my own...now, when I try to lauch anything from the sessions menu.. Campaign, Skirmish, Free Flight or Demo...the game does a HARD lock up and I have to hit the reset button to restart.

Here is my system specs:
Core2 6700 on ASUS P5N32-SLI Premium
PNY 8800 GTX running ForceWare 97.44
2 Gigs Corsair PC28500C5
X-Fi Fatal1ty FPS
3x500Gig WD
2x150Gig Raptors RAID0

I looked at alot of the troubleshooting tips, but there is no error.log generated when it crashes. Anyone have any ideas??

It seems a few people are having problems with the 8800 cards:

Hopefully Nvidia will sort out the driver problems they are having with some games in the near future.

This is a driver issue, and has nothing to do with MP... I have the 8800GTX and am having the exact same problem... I am also having the same problem with Falcon 4 AF... This has been discussed at length in the Falcon forum... unfortunately it seems we are gonna have to wait for an updated, fixed driver from nvidia. Falcon 4 will run in windowed mode... anyone know of a command line we can add to run EE in windowed mode?? I bet it will work for EE as well... not a good solution, but a work around until the drivers get fixed...

Just a bit odd... I have been experiencing even more frequent with latest versions, some similar hard lock ups, but only when exiting the game!...Very annoying, btw, cause the only solution is also an hard system reset...

The screen goes into a bunch of mixed black, white and yellow lines, but only the system video really seems to halt, since I get hdd activity when I press keyboard shortcuts like the "window"+e keys, or fool around with the mouse...

Could this also be an Nvidia issue? I have a GeForce 6100 on-board with ForceWare 93.71...

Thanks arneh... don't know how I missed that obvious entry in the ini file... it was late last night and my eyes were blurry... anyways, I got it running in windowed mode, however, it stalls when generating the campaign now... guess I need to do some more de-bugging....
