One thing I would love to see even more than the voodoo emulation running under openGL (the current software version looks good enough and runs fast enough for me) is some form of mouse look so I can use TrackIR. I posted the following over at vogons but got no response (probably because they didn't undestand the post. Note to self dont drink'n post!). How feasible do you think this would be in light of the attempt started by Carl Kenner I referenced? Unfortunately I don't know any C++ (only done a little Java) so I'm out of my depth here 'Wee' Mac, I've only just realised that EF2000 has built in support for the VFX1 headset and now see what you are getting at. If one knew what one was doing, it should be easy to implement TrackIR as the VFX1 SDK is available. Knowing what to do is the stumbling block though.

I pulled out my EF2000 CD.I was able to run this on Vista but now that I have Windows 7 X64 it won't even install the Windows 95 version. Its says its not compatible when I run setup.Any solutions?I'd hate to have to use the DOS version.

Go ahead and try it! I don't think it will work though, but the patching will let you know that.
IIRC, isn't Graphics+ the accelerated Voodoo and Rendition versions? By the way the Windows version, Super EF2000, isn't graphics accelerated either. It is about the same in appearance as the dos non accelerated version you have.
In any case, among other versions, EF2000 v2.0 installs the full Tactcom/Graphics+ package as either Voodoo or Rendition compatible. In other words you don't patch any of the included versions on the v 2.0 disc.

OK - should have checked first. Yes, you should be good to go, patching your version. Here is the MigMan entry on the Graphics + patch: Graphics + (G+) : This is a free patch which enhances the graphics of EF2000 for two 3D chipsets: Verite or Voodoo. This can be only installed on EF2000 with the TACTCOM upgrade applied (or EF2000 Evolution).
http://www.migman.com/sw/EF2000/versions.phpHope this clears up things.

Hope this clears up things. Well not really I thing the best I can do is to follow the instruction and see if it works. The version I've bought is EF2000 Evolution and, according to MigMan, it should allow to be patched with the Graphic+. Unfortunately they will send me the box to my parents' house so I'm still two or three weeks to get it. I hope in the meanwhile a new version of the DosBox with voodoo1 support will be out! Regards!!

Unsure what now is not clear? You have the judgment from Migman and from mikew regarding your question. If you have new questions about your hardware, that's a new issue.

No worries, no problem - your English is very good. I simply wasn't sure what might still be of question for you. Yes - although the patching is no problem, the only reason you would do it is because either: 1. You have access to a Voodoo 1 or a supported Rendition card or 2. You are going to try the modded DOS box new option for getting the Graphics+ Voodoo implementation to work. Actually, it is not hard at all if you use mikew's link to a recent modded dos box version that works for this mode. I say "not hard" assuming you have used dos box before. If not, yes, that is a little complicated seeming in the beginning but a very useful tool for older games/sims, and well worth the little amount of learning necessary for dos box use. You can get a lot of help right here, and you could search this forum's earlier posts and other threads for instructions. Or just ask. People here are happy to help.
