Purchased ROF (DVD version) a couple of years ago now. Worked fine in the UK.
Went abroad... stayed abroad. Bought myself a new PC.

Had the DVD with me, stuck it in the machine... so far so good.
Set the updater to launch... seems to update fine.
Launch the game... still looking good.
Go to Log-in for the first time on the new machine and... No response from server.

I go to the website to check if there's any down time schedualed and... main website is down.

I go to SimHQ forums to see if anyone has posted something similar in the last few days and ... nope...

so er... thought i'd post myself.

Anyone else have problems? Anyone know what's going on?
If it helps, the final bit of info that i have is that I'm in France.

Any update info is extremely appreciated.

Thanks

OK, just took a look at Check Six forums and apparently it's a problem with a certain internet service provider (It's called Free).

http://www.checksix-forums.com/showthread.php?t=174178&page=3

If you can't read french, it boils down to a slow/non-existant DNS update as the result of a server host change. (Sorry if some of the vocab is a bit off, i'm not a tech head).

Go into your internet settings and under ipv4 change the DNS to 8.8.8.8 and things should work again.

Thankyou to a guy called phoenix and gris for their info.

Quite frankly i'm amazed at the slow response time from Free. This has been going on since the 2nd of January apparently.
