Anyway, so we now know the AB212 in the lua was spurious, it should've read AB205 or 206 or just plain UH-1H.

Is DCS trying to be ArmA?

I find it amusing how intrigued and confused I am at the same time.... Huey? Neato! Huey? WTH?

Now we have, WWII/Korea,Georgie,Vietnam, man what is next biplane and triplane for WWI. I see we are really advancing with the DCS Modules. Please could you tell us, the Confused Community where you might be going? With DCS-CA we have modern troops and equipment and I don't think I would want to fly a Vietnam chopper over any terrain that may have a few Soldiers with hand held rockets. ooch, let alone modern vehicles capable of shredding me into tiny pieces of scrap metal.

Sorry, I just don't get this TFC Model, unless it is a "proof of concept" for cockpits with multi personal. Then I get it. Yet again why put it into DCS-World, if it is just a "proof of concept"it should be internal not an external Model. Confused.

DCS World is being shaped into a combat simulation platform. The nature of the missions/campaigns created using it will be up to the users and depend on the wide range of AI and player-controllable units available in it, which will hopefully continue to grow in number and variety. As you have seen, it is also being opened to increasing third-party development, including this Huey product and a number of modern tactical jet projects announced by other developer teams.

Multiplayer multiple seats isn't gonna be a "Launch" feature, you mean.

If non-primary seats are possible to be used by non-owners of the module, the market for two seat trainer aircraft is going to explode. "Train in our trainer aircraft" "I'm not spending $30 just to train" "Good news, you don't have to!"

I like the idea, but technically it might be prohibitive.

I actually hope that the nature of the missions/campaigns created is up to the developers at first; as in, I hope it comes with some missions and a campaign out of the box!

Sure, the available theater/units might not be ideal, but for me it's very important for there not only to be an accurate simulation (which I'm sure this will be) but also something to like, actually do with the aircraft I bought besides go from a to b.

I'm sure people will love doing just that, and not to knock them, but why I like dcs as opposed to fsx is that for me the missions/campaigns are what it's about... it's why I feel little disappointed with DCS Mustang. I know it doesn't 'fit in' that well, but why couldn't it have come with a little CAS type campaign? I dunno, pick a spot on the map, call it a little spot in Korea, make an F-51 skin, and go and shoot up some trucks, do some armed recon, that kinda thing?

Don't mean to too sound negative, I guess I'm just concerned (in general) that there's some 'slimming down', content wise, with the all the new aircraft on the horizon.

A more "simplified" type of helo is right up my ally since I don't really have time to get good (i.e. serious) with BS2. Definitely going to buy this

I didn't mean to say that individual modules will be released "naked" without supporting mission/campaign content. Although strictly speaking, what a third party wishes to include in their product is up to them and it will be up to the customer to judge the value of their offering. So it really depends on the product in question. Speaking as much as I can for both Belsimtek and TFC/ED, the general view is that a module is expected to come with gameplay content (combat missions, campaign, training missions) and documentation. The P-51D is kind of unique in that sense, because it has no combat contemporaries in the DCS World at this point, so ED felt it would be best to provide a different variation of gameplay content (the Challenge campaign in that case).

My point was toward the general question of "the DCS vision". It does not revolve around any particular aircraft or collection of aircraft. It revolves around building a combat simulation platform that can support a wide variety of AI and controllable units, not necessarily limited to aircraft. TFC/ED is interested in expanding the engine's universal capabilities, not in narrowing its focus arounda specific type of unit. As such, whatever combat missions/campaigns may ship with any particular module, the gameplay experience of any given player will ultimately depend on his selection of modules and the gameplay content generated by the community in any of its possible variations.

Well doesn't that sound grand, you supply the Vehicle's, and leave it to use to supply the missions........

Sorry but no thanks, your sim of Vehicle's are top notch, but the gameplay leaves alot to be desired..

Still waiting for something to do with the P-51..

Pass,- no more dollars till we have a Enviroment to utilize these in..

Interesting. With the DCS fidelity, will be a good addition as a flight simuatlion, but like others, I don't really know where it will "fit in". The future is always murky, who knows? Perhaps some '60s planeset, and I am all for that. Even a new map? But kudos, these guys are moving ahead and they deserve our support. And you have the choice. Buy or don't.
