Yes - it's the effects that are gone in campaign missions, and that made for the major nighttime fireworks displays. The campaign is integral to Falcon of course, and the war goes on. There was something about the effects, regardless of their realism, that contributed to the overall immersion factor that is a hallmark of Falcon. NOT making any negative comment on the fabulous work done by BMS! Simply recalling something from the old Falcon 4 days. My memory may be faulty on this, but I am not recalling these effects from AF either. Might be wrong though, or perhaps the frequency of ground combat was less.

I just installed Falcon 4 v1.06 on my retro 2 pc and flew a quick CAP TE - it was actually really good fun, even without trackir. I've spent the day downloading mods from Gamefront - can see me spending some serious hours on this I was amazed at how good the terrain looked.
I say it as I see it

I miss the pyramids What I mist the most from Falcon/Falcon AT is F16A Man I wish we'd get early Vipers as detailed as blk5x. Lots of good Falcon/Falcon AT videos on Youtube. Some Atari versions and some Amiga versions. I had the Amiga500 version of Falcon and Falcon AT. Man, watching those vids now, I can remember thinking how cool this was and how immersive it felt. Look at us now!
