I got a chance to fly a glider in the mountains in the Romsdal area of Norway last week, including a couple of flights to Trollveggen (Troll Wall), the highest vertical cliff in Europe. It got a lot spectacular footage! Here is a video I made from the experience:

And here are a few of the pictures:

Rest of pictures can be seen in my gallery

Hope you enjoy it :-)

At least the engine won't stop at an inopportune moment biggrin

Although I actually do have a small pop-up engine in the back :-)

Sweet! I passed Bjorli two weekends ago in a C172 bound for Kristiansund. Heard about some glider activity there from ATC smile

Stunning pictures!

Austrian-registered glider? Or is that pic only for illustration?

In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!

That was us then! :-) Soaring camp was september 21-29, and there's rarely glider activity at Bjorli the rest of the year.

Picture only for illustration, as I couldn't be bothered search for one of my own with the engine extended :-)

First thing I tell my wife this morning...

A. "Get up, the coffee's brewed."
B. "Going let the dogs out."
C. "'morning sweetheart."
D. "HOLY #%&*$# YOU GOTTA SEE THIS VIDEO!"

This answer of course is D.

Breathtaking, and no more than about 50 miles from Alesund (a place I dream of visiting). You should make a video for Disney EPCOT's hang glider ride.

Gives way and suddenly it’s day again
The sun is in the east
Even though the day is done
Two suns in the sunset, hmph
Could be the human race is run

I keep a collection of your pics every time you fly the fjords, what a beautiful place.

Glad you like it :-)

If you want to see more spectacular footage from Norway, here's one I made a little earlier this summer flying over the fjords:

In the second video? First track is from the Kick Ass soundtrack, it's called "In the House" composed by John Murphy. Second track is Illusions by Thomas Bergersen.

Magnificent. Would also suit Wagnerian accompaniment.
