I was reading an article about the death of Norman Lear and I was flabbergasted when I came across this sentence,

"After World War II, where he was decorated for his service in a B-52 bomber,"

He did fly 52 missions, so the B-17 must have been a SUPER Flying Fortress. He also received the Air Medal with 4 oak leave clusters.


There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.
