Louis Gosset, Jr passed away today at the age of 87.
I had the opportunity to meet him a few years ago, and introduce him to my wife and son. He was so friendly and kind. I will cherish our conversation and encounter that we had, and I am glad to have met him.

RIP
87 is a good run. He turned in many good roles but his role as the USMC drill instructor in "Officer and a Gentleman" is one that will forever be etched in eternal memory.

Yes, he was a great one. I too will always remember him in An Officer and a Gentleman.
Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.
Someday your life will flash in front of your eyes. Make sure it is worth watching.

I always liked Louis Gosset Jr. too and I always enjoy his acting. I recently watched and really enjoyed his two "Inspectors" movies. I saw him awhile back on an episode of "Early Edition" where he plays a Vietnam veteran that was well done. I was also reminded that he did voice work for Half-Life 2. I will always love his roles however in Officer and a Gentleman and Iron Eagle. Even though they don't always have great budgets or the best writing I also like some of the faith-based movies he did. He was a true working actor with that quality of a lived-life and genuine character that he brought to the projects he worked on.

I was surprised to see him in an episode of "Little house on the Prairie." But I was even more delighted to see him in HBO's "Watchmen", the series companion to the "Watchmen" movie. I also liked him in "Enemy Mine."

I was also reminded that he did voice work for Half-Life 2. . He did the voice for the Vortigaunts. HL 2 had a stellar voice cast for sure.

v6, boNes "Enemy Mine" is a favorite of mine. Lou and Gordo are great together.
